Many statewide races were tight on Election Day, showing how purple Wisconsin is and how every vote counts. It was predicted in polling and many of the results did not surprise political scientists in Wisconsin.
In Marathon County, nearly 62,000 people cast ballots on Tuesday, or about 76% of the county’s registered voters. Clerks from several municipalities mentioned busy polls and substantial lines at times throughout polling hours.
As Election Day draws near, crime has been a frequent topic in attack ads and campaign speeches, but some of the comments need more context. Many viewers have asked to have a breakdown of what has been said in the race for Wisconsin governor.
Both Democrats and Republicans are confident they can win the November mid-term elections because they claim they’ve each poached voters from regions where, traditionally, they don’t have a lot of support.
A Wisconsin judge on Wednesday rejected an attempt backed by liberals to allow absentee ballots containing an incomplete witness address to be counted, saying that would disrupt the status quo and cause confusion with voting underway less than two weeks before Election Day.
