Shaina Nijhawan

Born and raised here in Madison, Shaina began her journey at NBC15 as an Associate Producer in May of 2021.

Following her graduation from the School of Journalism at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (class of 2022), she transitioned into a role as Reporter and Multi-Media Journalist.

Shaina has always been empathetic, enthusiastic and very much a people person. Furthermore, once enrolling in her first public speaking course in high school, she fell in love with it and was determined to find a job that involved her passions for communicating with and helping others.

Prior to her career in journalism, Shaina took on internships in a variety of industries including human resources, public relations and digital media. Her most memorable experience was the internship she had with a smart mobility startup in Tel Aviv, Israel.

In addition to Journalism, Shaina is passionate about animals and a wide array of music. On her days off you can find Shaina cuddling her Bassett hounds, checking out a new local restaurant or spending time with her friends and family.
