Winter weather causing travel issues Saturday morning
LINCOLN COUNTY, Wis. (WSAW) - The Wisconsin State Patrol and Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office say travel is not advised on Hwy 51 north of Merrill.
According to a notification from the Wisconsin DOT, both north and southbound lanes of Hwy 51 from Merrill to Tomahawk are impassable.
There are also a number of disabled vehicles on Hwy 51 between Hwy J and Hwy S because of the road conditions. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office says many roads in the county are impassable.
The DOT also reports a semi jackknifed on Hwy 10 near Day Rd between Marshfield and Auburndale. One eastbound lane is closed while crews work to clear the scene.
Hwy 101 in Florence County was closed early Saturday morning between Hwy 8 and Hwy 2 because of a disabled semi. The road has since reopened.
Area law enforcement agencies are advising people not to travel this morning.
