First Alert Weather: Chances of wet weather this weekend
Times of sun and clouds on Friday into the upcoming weekend with scattered showers or a storm possible.
WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) - Thursday was a pleasant late spring day with a fair amount of sunshine, low humidity, and comfortable temperatures reaching the 70s. The winds will diminish around sunset Thursday evening, which will allow for fine conditions to check out the Woodchucks game at Athletic Park. Partly cloudy overnight into the start of Friday. Lows by Friday morning in the upper 40s in the Northwoods to the low 50s in Central Wisconsin.
Intervals of sun and clouds on Friday with a chance of scattered afternoon showers or a storm. Highs in the mid 70s.
There is a better risk of wet weather on Saturday with showers and maybe a storm in spots during the morning, then a chance of scattered showers in the afternoon. Keep the umbrella handy with highs in the low 70s. More sun than clouds on Sunday with highs in the upper 70s.
Summer heat and humidity will make a return for the new work week. Partly sunny Monday as a warm front lifts north during the day. Afternoon showers and storms are possible. Highs are in the low to mid 80s. Hot and humid Tuesday with lots of sunshine. Highs rising into the upper 80s to low 90s.
A cold front is forecast to move into the Badger State on Wednesday, providing a risk of showers and storms. The timing of the front is still not clear, but if the front does push across our area during the afternoon or early evening on Wednesday, there is a chance some storms could be strong to severe. We are going to monitor this in the coming days to see if severe storms are a better risk or not and if we would need a First Alert Weather Day. Be sure to check back for updates. In the wake of this front, next Thursday, June 16th will be partly cloudy with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s.
