First Alert Weather: Slight chance of storms on Saturday
Air Quality Alert for the western parts of the area into this evening. Some storms Saturday PM.
WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) - Severe storms ripped through the Central Wisconsin region Wednesday evening, leaving significant wind damage in parts of the area. You can submit your weather photos and any damages here.
An Air Quality Alert is in effect for almost the entire weekend. The alert was issued due to wildfire smoke from Canada.
Partly cloudy to clear tonight with lows in the upper 40s to around 50 north, low to mid 50s central and south. Sunshine along with some clouds tomorrow. There is a risk of scattered afternoon storms on Saturday, a few which could be strong with gusty winds, hail up to 1″ in size, and downpours. This will be in association with a cold front dropping south through the region.
The chances of storms will wind down by the early evening hours. Highs on Saturday in the mid to upper 70s. A fair amount of sunshine on Sunday. High in the mid 70s.
The week ahead features the start of the Wisconsin Valley Fair in Wausau. The weather is shaping up to be pretty nice for at least the first few days of the fair. Monday as they finishing setting things up in Marathon Park, will be partly cloudy with highs in the upper 70s. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday will feature more sun than clouds, and a bit warmer. Highs in the low to mid 80s. Partly sunny on Friday with a chance of showers or storms. Highs in the low to mid 80s.
