13,000 WPS customers, 8,000 CWEC customers without power due to severe weather
WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) - More than 13,000 Wisconsin Public Service and customers were without power Thursday, following an evening of severe weather.
As of 1 p.m., 1,779 WPS customers were without service in Wausau. Crews were able to make significant progress. Thursday morning that number was around 6,600.
Some Central Wisconsin Electric Cooperative customers are also without electricity. The largest outage is affecting nearly 500 customers in the town of Alban in Portage County. That’s near Rosholt. More than 400 customers in Bevent are also impacted. CWEC serves parts of Portage, Waupaca, Marathon, and Shawano counties.
We Energies is reporting more than 300 customers are without service near Conover.
