First Alert Weather: Showers tonight, clouds stick around Sunday

WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) - The first Saturday of summer was far from the hottest weather we have experienced this month. Clouds were common with times of showers and isolated storms in the southern parts of the region. The wet weather will persist for tonight. Rainfall of less than a quarter of an inch north, while up to 1″ possible south and east of Wausau through late tonight. A bit humid with lows in the upper 50s to low 60s.

Morning showers on Sunday winding down, then mostly cloudy. Highs in the mid 70s. Considerable cloudiness on Monday with scattered afternoon showers or storms possible. High in the mid to upper 70s. Tuesday more clouds than intervals of sun with a chance of showers or a storm. High in the upper 70s.

A cold front is expected to head our way on Wednesday. Sunshine fading to increasing clouds with a risk of showers and storms during the afternoon into the evening. Some storms on Wednesday might be strong with gusty winds, downpours, and perhaps hail. At this point, this is not a First Alert Weather Day, but we are going to monitor things over the next few days. Highs on Wednesday in the low 80s. A chance of lingering morning showers on Thursday, then clouds yielding to a fair amount of sunshine. High in the mid 70s. Partly cloudy on Friday with daytime readings in the upper 70s. Warmer next Saturday with a partly cloudy sky. High in the mid 80s.
