Grilling with Sunrise 7: Sweet and savory boneless country style pork ribs with sweet Vidalia onion
WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) - Grilling and the summer go hand-in-hand. On Friday, Gary Stockwell from Lamb’s Fresh Market shared a recipe that puts your typical burgers, brats and hot dogs on the back burner.
1 Vidalia onion
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Peel onion and cut in half. Dip one side of the onion in the vegetable oil and using that side, run over hot grill grates to prevent sticking. Grill onion to desired doneness. It will fall apart into rings the longer it cooks. Enjoy the sweetest onion in the world!
Sweet and savory boneless country style pork ribs
2 lbs. boneless country style pork ribs
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon chili powder
2 tablespoons papkika
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 cup of your favorite BBQ sauce
Combine all spices into a mixing bowl and blend. Drop in boneless country style ribs and be sure they are fully coated with the rib rub. Place on a preheated 350 degrees grill over direct heat. (This should be the spot where you treated the grill with vegetable oil using your vidalia onion). Turn frequently and grill until internal temperature reaches a minimum of 145 degrees. If you’d like, you may brush on your favorite BBQ sauce for the final 5 minutes of cooking.
