First Alert Weather : Muggy on Thursday with showers and storms arriving
A few stronger thunderstorms are possible Thursday afternoon and evening.
WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) -
Sunny weather returns for Wednesday as temperatures continue to climb out ahead of our next storm system that arrives for Thursday. Temperatures will jump back into the upper 70s and lower 80s for the day, with relatively comfortable humidity levels throughout the afternoon.
A cold front will approach Wisconsin and move through the state for Thursday, which will trigger a few rounds of showers and thunderstorms for the morning and again for the late afternoon Thursday. A handful of thunderstorms may become very strong in the southern part of Wisconsin, with central Wisconsin’s strongest storms containing wind gusts up to 50 mph, and/or hail up to 1″ in diameter.
While it will remain rather warm Friday, very windy conditions will return for the afternoon as skies continue to clear out for the upcoming start to the Father’s Day Weekend (and kickoff to Summer!). Temperatures will drop a bit for the weekend, with the next round for showers and thunderstorms arriving throughout the late afternoon and evening hours Sunday.
While the first full day of summer is next Monday, it will be anything but summer like for temperatures for the early part of next week, with daytime highs struggling to stay in the lower 70s and night time lows in the occasional 40s.
