ADAMS COUNTY, Wis. (WSAW) - The Adams County Sheriff said engine failure caused a pilot to perform an emergency landing Wednesday afternoon. The pilot of the plane was not injured and there was no damage to the property.

The plane landed safely in a field near 5th Avenue and State Highway 23 town of New Haven around 4 p.m. The investigation revealed a small private plane had been flying through the Wisconsin Dells area when they began to experience engine failure.

Two military aircraft which happened to be flying overhead observed the downed aircraft and contacted the Federal Aviation Administration who contacted local authorities.

This incident remains under investigation at this time. The Adams County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Wisconsin Dells Police Department, Wisconsin Dells EMS, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and the FAA.
