WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) -

A handful of temperatures hit the 90° Monday afternoon with a few more low 90s possible for this afternoon as the hazy, hot and humid weather continues across Wisconsin. The occasional shower and thunderstorm chances will continue at times this week, mainly between 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. as the heat and humidity continue for the rest of the week. Some of the strongest storms Tuesday and Wednesday may produce small hail, wind gusts up to 40 mph, as well as brief downpours at this time.

A better chance for some stronger storms may arrive Thursday, but more so for Friday evening, as a stronger cold front will roll through northern Wisconsin. While it is several days out, there may be a First Alert Weather Day needed for the severe storm threat later this week.

The warm and toasty weather may return later next week, but expect relatively comfortable humidity values Sunday into early next week.
