Another hot day is ahead along with brisk winds that will help guide temperatures into the 90s.

WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) -A First Alert Weather Day continues for today with highs again challenging records on the books from as far back as 1896. A good deal of sunshine, breezy, and hot. Afternoon readings topping out in the upper 80s to low to mid 90s. Heat index values will be in the low to mid 90s.

Some clouds tonight and rather warm with lows in the mid 60s to around 70. A mix of sun and clouds on Monday, a bit more humid. A chance of scattered storms in the afternoon. Some storms could produce locally heavy rainfall. Highs in the mid 80s to around 90. Partly sunny on Tuesday with afternoon storms possible. Highs in the upper 80s to near 90. Similar conditions for Wednesday and Thursday with some sun but also chances of showers or storms during the afternoon hours. Highs in the mid to upper 80s.

A weak cold front may be headed our way on Friday, which means a better chance that storms developing later in the afternoon and for the evening hours could be strong to possibly severe. Rather warm on Friday with daytime highs in the mid to upper 80s. Those storms should wind down Friday night with the return of sunshine on Saturday. Highs in the mid 80s. Partly cloudy and a pleasant summer day on Sunday with highs in the low 80s.
