SPASH jumps out to early lead but falls to Bay Port

STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAW) - The SPASH Panthers jumped out to a 14-0 lead to start the game, but the Bay Port Pirates outscored them 34-6 in the second half to hand SPASH its first loss of the season 49-20.

After a scoreless first quarter, Cole Kerchefiski opened up the scoring with a seven-yard touchdown rush.

The Panthers would double-down when Riley Warzynski hit Daniel Zdroik for SPASH’s second touchdown of the game.

The Pirates cut the lead in half in the last minute of the half when Elijah Frank hit Nate Forystek for the 21-yard score. Panthers led 14-7 at the break.

Bay Port took the kick-off to the house and from there they never looked back.
